Catalyst Education of Colorado provides alternative education for students in Boulder County and along the Front Range. Any family looking for an entirely different approach to a high school education should look into Catalyst. One unique feature of our school is how we develop a high-quality teacher-student relationship, which includes a remarkable amount of one-on-one attention. After visiting Catalyst, many parents comment that they wish they had attended a place like this when they were young.
Catalyst is the antithesis of the big-box mainstream high school. Our school calendar runs year round and includes a flexible vacation schedule. Students can start school and begin earning credits at any time. In Catalyst, each student focuses intently on one or two classes for four weeks, which encourages in-depth and concentrated studies and minimizes transitions. Our students create their own individualized course schedules and classes that are personally designed around individual strengths and interests. Our students monitor their own attendance and are free to “move around the office” while in school. We focus on teaching the skills necessary, so students can access information, design quality work and present ideas consistent with 21st Century expectations. Finally, Catalyst is college-like, with unique schedules that fit students’ needs, negotiable expectations, high standards and four to five day breaks between academic blocks.

"Not only is this the first and only high school that worked for Sarah, it’s the most focused I’ve seen her in twelve years of education.”
-- Chris, father of a current student
