What is the Catalyst Schedule Like?
At Catalyst, we run a college-like, block-style schedule. This – and the independence that Catalyst requires – may be one reason that a Catalyst graduate is likely to be highly successful in college later on!
• Instead of taking 5-7 classes at a time as you would in a traditional school, at Catalyst you will never take more than one or two academic classes at a time.
• Instead of each class lasting 18 weeks, as in a traditional school semester, Catalyst classes are four weeks long, at the longest!
• Instead of attending classes every day, you will attend each class only two or three times per week.
• Instead of doing most of your work in school, most of your learning and studying will take place outside of school.
• Instead of being given a schedule, you will choose the time of day and the days of the week to take each specialized class. You even decide which class to take!

What do Students do at Catalyst besides take Academic Classes?
At Catalyst EDU, we help you select and earn credit for many types of activities. You can:
• Work with a mentor or be a mentor to others;
• Participate in the Conference on World Affairs (an annual highlight!);
• Laugh a lot during healthy, active, fun, sponsored activities;
• Participate in a wilderness program;
• Volunteer to work with children;
• Find and keep a good job;
• Meet regularly with a therapist;
• Learn a martial art;
• Help others in the community;
• Play on a recreation sports team;
• Commit to a program to support sobriety;
• Learn how to save a life; or
• Take classes at a college or university.
